Joe Colombo: the designer who foresees the future.

Famous Milanese architect with an innovative soul, Cesare Colombo (alias Joe Colombo’s) was one of the creators of a modern, out-of-the-box design that merges, with harmony and a bit of extravagance, aesthetics and functionality. Many of his pieces have made history and still meet the contemporary daily needs of living, even the ones related to small spaces. An outstanding forerunner with design intuitions that point towards the future and that resulted in the conception of indispensable and flexible pieces, perfect for carrying out the most diverse functions.

Boffi Minikitchen

Minikitchen, conceived by Colombo for Boffi in 1963, is a clear example of the designer's futuristic view and contains a multitude of functions in just half a cubic meter. From washing to cooking and food storing, this compact mini-kitchen on wheels is made of Corian or marine plywood for outdoor contexts. A small space becomes accessorized, practical and innovative. The monobloc is self-sufficient and electronically powered.

Oluce Coupé 2202

The light and harmonious lines unveiled by Coupè enclose an ingenious mechanism that makes it possible to adjust the steel dome upwards, downwards and sideways and to get a different beam. Part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York, it has become one of the iconic Oluce pieces. Its essential and recognizable quality makes it perfect for any space, even modern ones.

Cappellini Tube

Pop and totally unconventional. The Tube chair is one of the most emblematic and customizable pieces by Colombo, a value provided by the possibility to combine the plastic tubes at will through the metal joints. Its unusual and vital look does not overlook comfort, giving rise to a versatile and decomposable chaise longue.

B Line Multichair

Released for the first time on Domus in 1970 and reissued by B-Line, Multichair has become a timeless icon of Italian design and embodies at perfection the topic of maximum versatility. Modular and vivacious, it expresses Joe Colombo's playful and unconventional soul thanks to a transformable system designed to accommodate the various positions of the human body. The combination of two soft polyurethane foam cushions becomes a relaxation chair, a chair and a comfortable chaise longue.
