Elegant and contemporary collections for terraces and urban gardens
In the chaos of the city, the opportunity to take advantage of an outdoor space in which to relax and receive guests and friends is not to be missed. A beautiful panorama over the roofs, urban architecture and the sky can be the ideal background for an outdoor living to plan taking care of the colours, materials and design of each element. Going from inside to outside it is nice to feel welcomed in an informal way and to count on a complete layout in which to move easily. Sofas, chaise longues, armchairs, tables and side tables form a perfect ensemble to furnish this precious and desired space, the essence of the luxury of enjoying one’s time outdoors, even in the city.
Cassina: refined details for a metropolitan terrace
Cassina declines the theme of the “metropolitan terrace” by imagining it as an authentic living room en plein air. Important fabrics combined with warm materials, such as teak, and formal details that would look good in an indoor living room. The absolute protagonist is the Sail Out sofa collection, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, which brings outside fabrics in intense colors that we are used to seeing only indoors. The experiment is a success because it makes the space welcoming and elegant, with an unexpected style. The same goes for the Dine Out armchairs by the same designer, suitable for both the dining area and the living area thanks to the comfort given by the padded seat and matching cushion. To complete the ensemble, the Table à plateau coffee table by Charlotte Perriand is ideal, available in two sizes, which can also be combined, with a solid teak structure and Carrara marble top.
Paola Lenti: nautical mood and chromatic surprises
Woven rope is one of the recurring themes of Paola Lenti’s aesthetics and evokes nautical atmospheres in a sophisticated key. The chromatic approach is surprising: the Ami seating collection is in fact proposed in neutral or lively colours, always elegant and never banal. The seats are ideal for an outdoor city dining area, where you can linger even after lunch for a comfortable conversation.
Paola Lenti also offers a maximum comfort collection for urban swimming pool areas where comfort can be sober but total thanks to the large Float chaise longues: the ideal place to indulge in relaxation and enjoy the view of the sky.
Ethimo: the “urban” variant of an iconic collection
The Allaperto collection by Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez is one of Ethimo’s most iconic and has taken on different forms over time suitable for various types of outdoor scenarios: from the sea to the mountains, passing, today, also through the city. Thus, was born the “urban” extension whose distinctive feature lies in the approach to materials: pickled teak and metal make the furnishings gritty and in tune with the energy-charged atmosphere of the city. The collection is designed for the outdoor living area and includes a sofa, armchairs, coffee tables, a cot, and an enveloping alcove.
Gervasoni: soft and generous lines in the name of comfort
In Gervasoni’s approach, the external space, just like the internal one, can be furnished with that mix of joy and design depth that characterizes all the brand’s production. Even in an urban outdoor context, such as a terrace overlooking the architecture, you can play with contrasts, for example by creating a black and white ensemble in which different decorative patterns alternate. From the strips of the concrete stool/table to the weaving of the elastic belt seats, both from the In/Out collection, to be combined with the visual and usable softness of the Ghost Out sofas.
GandìaBlasco: essential lines for the sophisticated outdoors
The minimal shapes and clean lines of the Islablanca and Blau collections by Gandìa Blasco are extremely suitable for an outdoor city space. These are furnishings with a careful design and discreet elegance that adapt to terraces and courtyards with different styles. The seats are generous and welcoming and are completed with large tables perfect for a drink at sunset.
Gubi: an iconic and evocative armchair for the outdoors
For those looking for a special and iconic piece of furniture to insert in their outdoor city space, Gubi (on the cover) offers an outdoor version of the Pacha armchair whose original version, for indoors, was designed in 1975 by Pierre Paulin. Rounded shapes, elegant proportions and essential lines make it comfortable and visually sculptural.
Kettal: new weaves and new proportions
Bitta is the Kettal collection designed with a strong reference to the nautical world and characterized by the elegant weaving of straps that creates the backrest of the enveloping armchairs. On the other hand, the elegant Park Life collection is characterized by the essentiality of the lines, whose elements are light and stackable to easily remodel the layout of the outdoor space.
The visual comfort of wood combined with wicker is what makes the Vimini collection by Patricia Urquiola familiar and elegant, warming up the atmosphere of the urban outdoors. The same designer also signs the Vieques collection characterized by geometric lines and honeycomb fabric for the seat and back.
