The September edition of Maison&Objet, recently concluded in Paris, confirms its position as a key event for international design. Among the offerings from Giobagnara, Serax, Polspotten, and Editions Milano, a less minimal and more personal home emerges, where objects for conviviality, ironic shapes, fashion influences, and precious materials bring craftsmanship, color, and function back to the forefront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Maison&Objet<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Giobagnara<\/a><\/strong>: the return of objects for conviviality
At Maison&Objet, Giobagnara presents a collection that focuses on the theme of conviviality through objects designed to be used, shared, and left on display. Among the new additions are the Rolli boxes, inspired by the hospitality tradition of Genoese palaces: modular containers covered in leather, available in various shapes, sizes, and color combinations. Games are another key focus of the offering, with seven new titles expanding the collection dedicated to tabletop entertainment: from Sudoku and Go to Othello and Chinese checkers. Marble, walnut, Corian\u00ae, and leather define surfaces and details, transforming chessboards and games into true decorative objects. This offering brings together craftsmanship, precious materials, and a renewed focus on domestic rituals, from play to conversation, bringing objects back to the center of everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n

Serax<\/a><\/strong>: when fashion and design meet
At Maison&Objet, Serax brings together different languages, from ceramics to glass, with a particular focus on graphic design and color. Marie Michielssen<\/a><\/strong>‘s Charly brings white ceramics decorated with hand-painted motifs to the table, while Annebet Philips’s Line-up translates the spontaneous gesture of sketching into a series of plates and objects with blue brushstrokes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silos, born from a collaboration with Plan C, an Italian fashion brand founded by Carolina Castiglioni, focuses on a collection of glasses with geometric shapes and bold colors. With Cameo In\/Out, Maurice Harris explores glass, transforming the cameo theme into a series of vases with soft, colorful silhouettes. The shape draws inspiration from Kente cloth, originally from Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n

Polspotten<\/a><\/strong>: when the object takes center stage
At Maison&Objet, Polspotten continues its research into transforming household accessories into ironic and outsized decorative presences. The Beads Candle Holder is a particularly striking example: handcrafted, it combines a steel and aluminum frame with glass beads, some of which are recycled, assembled one by one. <\/p>\n\n\n

The Fat Fish Jar plays with the recognizable shape of the fish, transforming it into a large recycled glass container, designed to store sweets or simply as a decorative element. The same irony characterizes the Diving Duck family, which brings the figure of the duck to the table through softly shaped, handcrafted ceramic objects: in the Diving Duck Plate, the duck becomes an integral part of the plate’s surface. This selection confirms an increasingly evident trend: homewares no longer simply complement a space, but contribute to its character.<\/p>\n\n\n

Editions Milano<\/a><\/strong>: precious materials take center stage
At Maison&Objet, Editions Milano highlights the relationship between design, noble materials, and fine Italian craftsmanship. Among the new additions, Ceremony by Neri&Hu<\/a><\/strong> interprets table rituals through cake stands, carafes, lazy Susans, and plate sets in marble, wood, and metal, where function coexists with an almost sculptural presence. Versilia Tris by Jacopo Simonetti<\/a><\/strong>, on the other hand, focuses on marble and the inlay technique: three varieties\u2014Arabescato, Emperador Dark, and Bardiglio Nuvolato\u2014are combined to create a vase with unique veining. <\/p>\n\n\n

Regarding re-editions, Magellano by Vico Magistretti<\/a><\/strong>, designed in 1971, reinterprets the spherical shape of the original vase in palladium-finished brass. Completing the selection is Stone Imperfect, a limited edition of just 20 pieces in white Mexican onyx, in which the stone’s natural inclusions and variations, normally considered imperfections, become the distinctive feature of each piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
