Chaise Lounge and Design Chairs. Eames, the story of an icon.

Holding hands along an artistic journey made of mutual understanding and experimentation, Charles & Ray Eames have marked with innovation the history of contemporary design. The two revolutionary artists, both life and work partners, have been engaged in a successful pioneering work, becoming authors of true artworks, of icons that are carved in time. A daring and original design project that has given rise to globally-admired products, leading to collaborations with brands such as Vitra and Herman Miller. From the sculptural Eames Lounge Chair, part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, to the renowned Plastic Chair collection; their ideals of elegance and simplicity are today among the most appreciated worldwide.

The Eames Lounge Chair was so admired by the international audience that Arlene Francis presented it on prime-time American TV on her Home Show. It was the first and only chair to receive such presentation. Charles invited the film producer Julian Blaustein at his office to read the scripts of his last piece. When the designer got back, he saw that his friend had fallen asleep on a prototype of the chair. Blaustein was embarrassed, but Charles was pleasantly surprised.

Elephant is the outcome of a bold experimentation, the exclusive result of a research and improvement work pursued by Eames on three-dimensional plywood moulding techniques. This elegant wooden object for the living room and delicate plastic toy for the children's bedroom enriches the compositional frame of the house, giving joy to adults and kids with its curious ears.
