The company dedicated to the outdoors and faithful to the made in Italy tells its origins through its latest products

A return to the origins to celebrate the sixtieth birthday and tell an important Italian story of business, design and creativity. The protagonist is Pedrali, which in 1963 was born as an artisan workshop in Palazzolo sull’Oglio, in the Brescia area, on the initiative of Mario Pedrali who, with formidable foresight, had decided to focus on outdoor furniture and started his production of wrought iron seats. It was the 1960s and Pedrali was laying the foundations for what would later become a real company and under the guidance of his children, Monica and Giuseppe, he would come to form a team of no less than 340 collaborators. The step from laboratory to industry is long but Pedrali retains a fundamental aspect of its origins: 100% made in Italy production and control of the entire supply chain with production divided between the headquarters in Mornico al Serio (Bergamo) and the Manzano factory (Udine). The 60th anniversary of the company also coincides with its thirty-fourth participation in the Salone del Mobile in Milan, another fact that tells a lot about the farsighted vision of its founders. And on this edition of the fair, in a stand entitled #BackToNature, Pedrali presented the new collections, imagined by thinking about the origins.

Narì by Andrea Pedrali

The story of Pedrali is also a family story and the Narì collection (on the cover) is an interesting and poetic portrait of it. Narì is in fact a collection of seats designed by Andrea Pedrali, grandson of the founder Mario, whose project refers precisely to those first wrought iron chairs made in the 1960s. The reminiscence can be read, in particular, in the slender legs which in the original chairs were formed by a double rod in forged and hand-bent metal and which today, while evoking their shape, are made up of a more essential and linear double steel tube. Even the stringing of the sides, which widens upwards, evokes the fan-shaped design of the backrest of the original chair and finally, the name, Narì is the way in which the Pedrali family was called in the dialect of the area.

Anemos by Pio and Tito Toso

Light and ethereal in appearance, Anemos is a table with a concrete base designed by Pio and Tito Toso. The supporting structure is made up of two double-curved elements with an extremely dynamic and elegant profile. The two bases act as a support surface for a circular top, whose profile recalls the roundness of the base, creating a dialogue of shapes, like in a dance.

Blume by Sebastian Herkner

Blume is the collection of coffee tables designed by Sebastian Herkner with essential lines whose elegance is hidden in the formal details. Like the supporting column, characterized by classic and regular grooves already present in the structure of the chairs, from the same collection. In the same way, the circular top in agglomerated marble is naturally elegant, also available in other high-performance materials to satisfy any type of furnishing requirement.

Frank by Robin Rizzini

Frank is a dining table with an industrial soul. The base is made up of two elements in die-cast aluminum of variable thickness, slightly curved inwards. This curve determines a double perception of the same element which now appears light and ethereal like a sail inflated by the wind, now solid and structured. The two bases are connected by a steel beam placed under the top which makes the whole solid and stable.

Guinea and Lamorisse Wood by CMP Design

Among the collections introduced at the last Salone del Mobile there are also the Guinea and Lamorisse chairs by CMP Design. The first is an outdoor chair that has an aluminum structure that gives it great lightness. The aluminum is skilfully combined with the teak of the armrests which, together with the waterproof textile mesh, makes the whole thing warmer and more comfortable.

The Lamorisse Wood chair has a particular structure in steam-bent ash wood which continuously forms legs, armrests, and support for the backrest. The seat is a construction of metal straps and polyurethane foam which guarantee support and comfort.
