It is the iconic furnishing system of USM Modular Furniture that combines color, configurability and functionality.
In 1965 an idea was born that was destined to mark the history and methodology of the furnishing project. It is the USM Haller system, designed and produced by USM Modular Furniture to provide a modular tool that is also versatile in style. Functionality without neglecting aesthetics, efficiency without neglecting elegance: these characteristics have accompanied the system up to today and it is no coincidence that since 2001, the system has been included in the permanent collection of the MoMa in New York.
USM Haller has become an approach to the organization of living and working space, responding to the need to make it comfortable and beautiful and working perfectly in every room of the house. At the base are three fundamental elements: chromed brass joints, steel tubes and metal or glass panels. Starting from these three components, USM Modular Furniture proposes and suggests dozens of possible configurations, in addition of course to allowing configurations according to personal tastes and needs. To be accommodated also on a formal level, thanks to the 14 color options of the panels available and useful for integrating the system into the environment.
To celebrate its sixtieth birthday, there could not have been a better location and occasion than the last Milanese design week, in which the brand participated by launching a new LookBook with one hundred original configurations and with a prestigious temporary installation. The LookBook is an immediate tool for understanding which and how many opportunities there may be for using this system. A collection of ideas that in particular in this new creation involve: the custom wardrobe, changing tables and children’s furniture, home office furniture and media stations, storage solutions for records, vinyl and TVs, shelving, coffee tables and home bar & mixology corners.
Solutions to real problems but also suggestions on how to transform your space and habits: architectural ideas but also life ideas in which organization is a key variable for a serene and smooth daily life.
To get an idea of the uses of USM Haller, you can imagine an ideal path through the house, starting right from the entrance: here the system can be translated into a wall console, or, in the case of an entrance directly into the living room, into an open shelving unit that marks the passage even in the absence of walls. In the living area, the possible uses of the structure are endless: from the study area to the equipped wall, from the container element in the dining area to the vinyl station, as suggested by the LookBook.
Even in the kitchen, the USM Haller system can be decisive: to have everything in order with a touch of style and perhaps color.
From the living area you move on to the sleeping area: the system can also be interpreted as a bed structure with drawers, as well as an always useful container element. And it offers the best of itself in the wardrobe where it is possible to alternate closed elements and open elements to have everything in order in the most appropriate way.
Finally, to further characterize the chosen composition, the company has introduced the USM Haller Soft Panel: a series of fabric panels, equipped with magnets, which can be inserted into the structure to make it even more attractive. The fabric panels are ideal for adding color and texture and thanks to the magnetic system they can be moved or rotated as desired, making the user experience playful and dynamic. Also interesting from an environmental point of view: the panels are made of high-quality synthetic fiber, with a percentage of 40% of recycled marine plastic Seaqual® Fibres.
