A villa in Jordan: light, materiality, and contemporary harmony

A villa in Jordan: light, materiality, and contemporary harmony

In Jordan, a private residence comes to life with light and proportion as its guiding principles. The home unfolds with a spacious, balanced layout where each room has its own character yet contributes to a unified whole. The living areas flow as part of a single narrative, shifting naturally between conviviality, family life, and spaces for formal entertaining.

Curated by Mohd’s interior design team, the project translates comfort into a consistent language of measured proportions, tactile materials, and light as a defining element.

The floor plan itself reflects this narrative quality. A double-height foyer introduces an airy openness, leading into a sequence of spaces that remain visually connected while serving different roles. At the center lies the lounge, a hub that links the dining area on one side with the formal salon on the other.

Completing the ensemble, the family living room offers a more intimate retreat tailored to daily rhythms.

The lounge is conceived as the social heart of the home, a place for dialogue and exchange. Curved sofas form a welcoming arrangement that draws people together, while soft tones and textured surfaces create an atmosphere of immediate ease.

Generous windows flood the room with natural light, softening its contours and extending the view outward to the landscape.

The dining area is defined by the warmth of wood-clad walls, framing a more contained, inviting volume. At its center stands a large table, the anchor of family and social life, celebrating both material strength and the ritual of gathering.

Lightweight chairs complement the ensemble with discretion, allowing the balance of proportions to shape the room’s sense of order.

The family living room embraces a more relaxed dimension. Bold contrasts of orange and white bring energy and freshness, animating the space with a contemporary edge. Deep, generous sofas are arranged to create islands of comfort, shaping a domestic setting that feels dynamic and inviting.

The result is a room that balances practicality with refinement, maintaining its own identity while remaining aligned with the overall style of the house.

By contrast, the formal salon embodies the residence’s most distinguished character. Here the atmosphere is poised and refined: blue-toned armchairs and elegantly proportioned sofas create a sophisticated setting designed for entertaining with discretion and grace. Daylight filters gently across surfaces, enhancing the richness of the materials and underscoring the harmony of the composition. Comfort remains central, but here it is expressed in a more ceremonial tone, conferring a sense of prestige and authority to the home.

A carefully balanced project that alternates openness and intimacy, achieving harmony between everyday living and formal occasions while ensuring each space stands on its own yet contributes to a single, coherent narrative.
