The evolution of a project in Switzerland: from concept to completion

The evolution of a project in Switzerland: from concept to completion

Every home begins with a vision of how life unfolds within it. In this Swiss project, the starting point was the desire to create a setting that expressed a precise way of living—measured, welcoming, and deeply genuine.

A space shaped not by a single gesture, but by a sequence of insights and variations that gradually built a balanced composition of light, colour, and spatial relationships.

The open-plan living area is defined by flowing volumes and expansive glazing that invites natural light deep into the interior, revealing the richness of each material. The placement of the furniture was conceived to maintain clear sightlines, cultivating a sense of openness and ease.

Working across several proposals, the Mohd team explored multiple configurations, each offering a distinct rhythm and chromatic balance, and each capable of revealing new nuances in the architecture.

The layout studies were less about altering the structure and more about understanding its potential. While the overall framework of the living area remained unchanged, the plans introduced subtle variations in the dining space and the outdoor area bordering the pool. In the dining room, shifts in the shape and scale of the table suggested different ways of hosting—sometimes broad and central, other times more intimate and suited to everyday living.

Likewise, the poolside space was envisioned through various lenses, ranging from more defined arrangements that extended the living area to lighter, more minimal compositions. This exploratory phase made it possible to capture essential nuances and ultimately arrive at a balanced solution that reflects the owners’ way of living.

In parallel, a material and colour study—supported by moodboards and renderings—guided the definition of the project’s aesthetic identity.

Each proposal tested different tones and textures, building layers of contrast and harmony across surfaces. From lighter, more neutral palettes that enhance brightness and spatial clarity to richer, contemporary tones with greater depth, every variation suggested a distinct personality for the home: softer and more understated, or bolder and more architectural.

Through this process, the project found its voice in a measured balance between precision and warmth, luminosity and depth.

The final outcome emerges from this synthesis: an interplay of open volumes and tactile materials, where light becomes a compositional element and every choice settles naturally into the context. The spaces unfold fluidly, without rigid hierarchies, embracing daily life with quiet vitality.

The result is a home that reflects the coherence of a collective design path—one where every decision, from chromatic contrasts to the arrangement of the furnishings, expresses a thoughtful, personal interpretation of contemporary comfort and beauty.

A home shaped by the sensibility of its inhabitants and by the care infused throughout the design process.
