Recycled materials, furnishings made to last and enhance outdoor spaces.
Looking at the projects of many brands dedicated to outdoor furniture, one could already speak of outdoor 2.0, since this sector is not only among the strongest of the moment, but is also projected into the future not only for its weather-resistant performance but also for its innovations aimed at sustainability. Living outdoors, in fact, also means reconnecting with nature, and therefore the choice of the most forward-thinking companies to pursue research and innovation aimed at respecting the planet seems perfectly coherent. This intention takes shape in various ways: the use of recycled and recyclable materials, durability, and resistance, to name a few.
All expressed through the precious language of design, with attention to finishes, proportions, and colors. The idea is to furnish elegant and comfortable outdoor spaces with furnishings that blend with the natural environment and can last a long time. Because true quality is a guarantee of durability and therefore sustainability in its original sense. The brands’ commitment is complemented by the awareness of users, who are driving a revolution in the selection and proper use of furniture, further strengthening their sustainable vocation.
Regeneration by Nardi
Nardi is an Italian company that has been producing resin furniture for outdoor use for over thirty years. It has always been a key sector in its field, and therefore has a deep understanding of lifestyle, needs, and, of course, the technical characteristics required of this type of product. Building on this extensive expertise and the company’s environmental awareness, the Regeneration program for the production of outdoor furniture made from recycled and recyclable plastic was launched in 2019. Post-industrial and post-consumer polypropylene scraps and waste are transformed into cutting-edge collections, not only in terms of technology but also style. Further underscoring the sustainability of the production process, the typical colors of recycled polypropylene are left natural: earth, chalk, cactus, and basalt.

Juli Re-plastic by Werner Aisslinger for Cappellini
To make a stylish entrance into the world of sustainable outdoor furniture, Cappellini relies on one of its iconic chairs: Juli Plastic, designed in 2018 by Werner Aisslinger. Comfortable and colorful, this chair is deeply identified with the plastic material from which it was made in its original version. This connection is even more significant in the Re-plastic version, launched in 2022: the steel legs support the shell, which in this version is made of fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene. Recycled, recyclable, and also particularly durable, it extends the chair’s lifespan, consistent with a broad concept of sustainability and quality. To further enhance the functionality and durability of the chair, the seat can be perforated for water drainage, making it ideal for outdoor use with the Juli Re-plastic.
Nooch by Piero Lissoni for B&B Italia
More than a sofa, Nooch is a modular seating system whose sustainability lies in its lightweight, durable, and recycled aluminum tubular frame. The choice of this material, driven by sustainability, has proven to be a valuable source of creative ideas. The distinctive feature of the collection is the crisscrossing of the tubular elements on the seat backrest, made possible by the use of aluminum. The textile elements are also sustainable, as the padding is made of regenerated materials and can be completely separated for proper disposal.

Kettal, aluminum as a conscious choice
Kettal’s commitment to the environment is rooted in its history: the company was founded in 1964 as a manufacturer of aluminum camping equipment. This has led to a profound understanding of both weather conditions and the characteristics required for outdoor furniture, as well as of aluminum itself and its response to weathering. Today, these skills have become the driving force behind the brand’s sustainability, with a further step forward: the use of only eco-friendly and 100% recyclable paints, just like aluminum itself.
Salinas by Baxter
Baxter pursues the goal of sustainability in a completely new way, combining it with an ancient tradition. Salinas, in fact, is the outdoor rug handmade in India according to the historic Kilim artisan school, which incorporates a significant innovation focused on sustainability. The yarn used is obtained from the transformation of PET recycled from bottles, which, through a depolymerization process, makes it soft but also extremely weather-resistant.
