Fuorisalone: Flos entrusts Konstantin Grcic and Erwan Bouroullec with two installations that transform Nocturne and Maap into immersive experiences, suspended between atmosphere, matter, and creative gesture.
During Milan Design Week 2026, Flos opens its spaces on Corso Monforte to two complementary visions of light. At the Professional Space, Nocturne by Konstantin Grcic takes the stage as a rarefied, silent system; at the Flagship Store, Maap by Erwan Bouroullec unfolds through Sound of Chaos, a multimedia installation that narrates the passage from order to living matter.
Nocturne begins with the idea of a nocturnal light: soft, atmospheric, capable of casting both direct and indirect brightness with the discretion of an almost lunar presence. The modular system combines hot-formed borosilicate glass, aluminum, and low-glare technology, giving shape to floor, wall, and suspension lamps with conical or hemispherical diffusers.
For his installation, Grcic looks to the final scene of 2001: A Space Odyssey, turning the film’s luminous floor into an exhibition device. A grid of white panels crosses the showroom, suspending the objects in an ambiguous dimension, more imagined than real. In this quiet landscape, Nocturne does not simply illuminate: it defines a perceptual condition.

Maap follows an opposite impulse. Erwan Bouroullec’s wall lamp is composed of an ultralight fiber, similar to paper, magnetically fixed to a luminous support. Crumpled and shaped by hand, the surface takes on organic, unrepeatable forms, transforming each configuration into a landscape of light.
With Sound of Chaos, Bouroullec brings this energy into an environment shaped by sound, images, and visual layering. Chaos is not disorder, but the origin of form: a free tension that finds balance through gesture. Between the suspended precision of Nocturne and the tactile unpredictability of Maap, Flos confirms light as cultural matter, able to inhabit space and profoundly alter its perception.
