The company has chosen to present its latest collections during a two-day event hosted in its warehouses.
About 140km south of Prague is the Janštejn Glassworks, a glass processing laboratory closely linked to the history of Brokis, a leading company in the production of glass lights on an international level. It is precisely with the Janštejn Glassworks that the story of Brokis begins: a brand that combines technological and formal innovation with artisanal production techniques.
And the Janštejn Glassworks factories hosted the Brokis glassmakers’ night, an evocative event in which over 400 guests experienced the behind the scenes of the company’s production, immersed in tools and materials. On this occasion, in addition to opening a window on manufacturing, Brokis presented the latest collections and in particular Starcloud, Dome, Convex, Spectra, Comet, Senza Fine, the latter designed by Simona Sbordone, artistic director of Brokisglass, a division of the company specialized in the processing of glass waste.
Starcloud
Lucie Koldova, creative director of Brokis, designed this modular lighting system inspired by astral forms and identified three to combine. These are Atria, Vega and Lyra and they differ from each other in small formal details, barely noticeable differences that make the three pendant elements perfectly combinable with each other. The finishes are also interesting: opal white, opal pink pearl and opal grey. The collection includes six predefined configurations, but it is possible to create additional ones based on your desires.
Dome
Dome is a collection designed by the LCM Marin studio and is inspired by classical Roman architecture and expands, in 2024, with the table version and a second suspended version. The name recalls the characteristic dome shape that contains an opaline diffuser inside where there is the LED light. The structure can be smooth or striped for an even more sculptural and dynamic effect. In both the suspended and table versions, the dome is supported by a metal ring.
Convex
Convex is the collection of wall and suspended lamps designed by Boris Klimek. The convexity recalled by the name is found in the glass surface treated to create an abstract and captivating design resulting from the use of glass flakes. It is the Brokisglass project that experiments and researches in the field the use of production waste in a constructive and creative way. The formal result is surprising, and the collection is elegant and sophisticated.
Spectra
With this lamp Lucie Koldova starts from the archetype of the table lamp to then create something totally innovative and enchanting. The structure is composed of a glass cylinder and a diffuser that directs the light both upwards and downwards with an integrated dimmer that allows you to modulate the intensity to suit the atmosphere. The proposed sizes are two and the colors are transparent brown, smoky gray and opaline glass.
Comet
The artistic director of Brokisglass, a division of Brokis dedicated to experimentation, imagined this collection as a shower of shooting stars.
The texture of the surface is given by the addition of silicon sand to the glass during the blowing phase. And it is a light with a completely special and scenographic effect.
Senza Fine
Within Brokisglass Simona Sbordone also experiments with Senza Fine, a series of objects in which the texture of Brokisglass is combined with materials such as wood and cement and contains dust and flakes of glass from production waste.
Hence the name of the collection which underlines the possibility of this material living beyond the boundaries of time.
