PP Møbler |

In the world of Danish design, PP Møbler evokes a deep sense of quality, dedication, and reverence for woodcraft. Founded in 1953 just north of Copenhagen, the company has become a benchmark for those seeking timeless furniture—pieces shaped by a tradition of fine craftsmanship passed down through generations.

The story of PP Møbler is inseparably linked to that of Hans J. Wegner, the undisputed master of Scandinavian design. His creations have defined an era and continue to captivate design lovers and collectors across the globe. More than mere furniture, PP Møbler’s chairs are functional sculptures—designed to endure and to carry forward a legacy of beauty and balance.

A renewed flagship store: where tradition meets innovation

For the 2025 edition of 3daysofdesign, PP Møbler unveiled its redesigned flagship store, developed in collaboration with designers Ahm & Lund. The new exhibition space offers a refined and welcoming atmosphere where materials, light, and design engage in quiet dialogue. Every element has been curated to highlight the structural details of Wegner’s masterpieces, reimagining the experience of craftsmanship for today’s audience.

The pp101 chair: a hidden treasure brought to light

Among the highlights of the event was the introduction of the new pp101 chair—a previously unreleased design by Hans J. Wegner, originally sketched in 1955 and brought to life for the first time. Under the guidance of master craftsman Kasper Holst Pedersen, the piece has been faithfully crafted according to Wegner’s original drawing. With its organic form and pared-down construction, the pp101 is an elegant and accessible dining chair, now a permanent addition to the PP Møbler collection.

75 years of the Flag Halyard Chair: honoring a visionary classic

Another key moment at 3daysofdesign was the celebration of the Flag Halyard Chair, Wegner’s visionary 1950 creation. For the occasion, PP Møbler presented a special edition featuring wooden legs—a detail found in the original sketch but never before produced. Visitors were also treated to live demonstrations of the hand-weaving process, a tribute to the precision and value of artisanal labor.

The exhibition also featured some of PP Møbler’s most iconic creations: the Valet Chair, both elegant and practical with its hidden compartment; the legendary Round Chair, a symbol of Danish modernism; the compact and sculptural Cow Horn Chair; the bold, playful Bull Chair with its signature armrests; the refined First Chair, blending Chinese tradition with Nordic minimalism; and the Final Chair, Wegner’s last design, created to unite comfort, strength, and simplicity.

Throughout the event, visitors had the opportunity to witness PP Møbler’s master joiners and weavers at work—sculpting, sanding, and weaving using the same techniques passed down through generations. A powerful homage to Denmark’s woodworking heritage, and a clear testament to the enduring value of craftsmanship.

With new launches, limited editions, and live demonstrations of savoir-faire, PP Møbler continues to share with the world a design philosophy that bridges past and present. Attention to detail, respect for materials, and love for the project itself make each chair not just an object, but a piece of living heritage.
